Many of us, most of us are given scraps to build our lives upon. Scraps of food, money, energy and most often love. We salvage the things we are given and anything we can find. Sometimes they are whole and usable while other times they are shreds other people hand us. Or even a combination of the two where you start with something whole and by the end there are a million shattered pieces to pick up.

Many times we don't ask to pick up the pieces but we do it anyways, to survive. And from those scraps we build lives, sometimes tattered and a little broken but beautiful nonetheless.

This is not meant to encourage a victim mindset and reinforce the world is out to get you. In fact the universe wants good things for you and you deserve good things, just for being human.

This is meant to open your eyes to the beauty of the patch work that people are and to be kind to yourself and be kind to others. For most of us are building empires from scrap.
