The Unknown. It can be terrifying at times. Vast openness of infinite possibilities. Our mind tries to look for answers and fill in the blanks so that we can feel safe. That biological systems purpose is to keep us alive. We look for signs of danger in order to survive. The majority of the time we don't need that system to be activated and in fact if its "turned on" for too long it starts to take a negative toll on our other biological systems.
So what if I told you there was equal possibility of good as there is bad? Mathematically its true. Imagine that mindset shift. That there is equal opportunity to embrace the unknown and lean into it as to fear it and run from it.
For every bad thing you can imagine happening to you there are equal possibilities of good things happening to you. And really it is a frame of mind that is the difference. Our internal world creates our outer world. When you look for the bad you will find it. However, the same is true for the opposite. When you look for the good, you find the good. The principle is called the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. It's much like when you buy a new red vehicle you start to notice more red vehicles than ever before. That is the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon at work.
I am not saying toxic positivity is the answer. It is ok to feel anger, sadness and any other emotion towards a situation that initially seams awful, heartbreaking or unfair. Maybe by looking for the good you end up not staying in the space for any longer than you have too.
This mindset shift is not easy, especially if you've experienced some sort of trauma and don't feel safe in your own body. Mental coaching aka Therapy is a great tool to start asking questions and challenging those fears and thoughts. There are other amazing modalities out there than can help as well like feeding your body the correct nutrients its lacking and aiding the detoxing process. Massage therapy and Reiki which is helpful to move stuck energy in the body. The beautiful thing that happens once you make that mindset shift is that even in "bad" situations you find the good.
Be open to the unknown. Be curious The universe wants good things for you. You just have to be open to receive it. When things fall away and the path is no longer clear you are being led to something better than you could have ever imagined.
